There are two types of disk available: basic and dynamic disk. These disks are used for creating partitions using writing tables like MBR, EBR, LDM and GPT.
- In the MBR partition, 3 standard primary partitions are created and one logical volume or 4 primary partitions in disk of up to 2 TB.
- In GPT partition, 128 primary partitions are created on a disk of up to 64TB.
In its previous versions of BDR, Vembu did not support backups for disks larger than 2 TB or GPT disk format. Now with Vembu BDR v2.1.0 (BETA), the support for backup of GPT partition and disks larger than 2TB. When an older version of BDR, is upgraded to v2.1.0 GA release the user can configure a disk image backup using GPT and be able to use a disk larger than 2TB (v2.1.0 BETA is not supported for upgrade of older version).
