It’s now time for Hyper-V to tie knots with Vembu Virtual Appliance following VMWare. Yes, Vembu has finally released Virtual Appliance for Hyper-V support. The idea of Vembu Virtual Appliance started as a product that could be an affordable alternative to Backup Exec 3600 (which is counting its days to end). It is also envisioned that providing a Virtual Appliance for SMBs will be an added advantage to them. It will reduce their cost expenditures for hardware purchases as well as minimize the workload in order to have their software installed.
Also it reduces the time taken for pre-configuring the product to setup the environment best suited for backup jobs. Vembu Virtual appliance comes preconfigured with Vembu BDR installed inside Ubuntu and is provided as an image file that gets loaded on a virtual environment. Previously, as an introductory product Virtual Appliances came with VMWare support only.
Now Vembu users with Hyper-V installed on their system can also experience the power of Vembu Virtual Appliance. Please visit the download page to have your own copy of Vembu Virtual Appliance. To learn more about Virtual Appliances, read more here:
