As a Design and Marketing Creative for Vembu Technologies, I’ve had the opportunity to explore many aspects of virtualization while developing marketing projects for the company. Even though my role isn’t technical I must still have an understanding about the technology in order to design relevant infographics, diagrams, banners, ads and technical documents that will stand out from the competition. So I also have to know what the competition is doing and how we’re different. While getting acquainted with this technology I discovered so much about the industry itself, the benefits of a virtual network, what virtual machines actually are and how they enhance network performance exponentially. I also observed the striking differences between Vembu and the competition and why Vembu has a better product and price.
Overall, the virtual world was new to me even though I already had a strong foundational knowledge of physical networking and cloud infrastructure from past technology experience. Yet after studying more about it online and also speaking with technology professionals at tradeshow events it’s apparent to me that this industry is larger than I imagined and that the transition to cloud infrastructure is huge. In fact, it’s practically a necessity when you compare the benefits of it to non-virtualized networks.
Traditional enterprise architecture is comprised of rows of hardware and power-guzzling servers, which are very expensive to purchase, maintain, and backup. They possess limited options to restore data quickly and efficiently and also have a high risk of complete data loss should a disaster occur onsite. However, through the innovative technology of virtualization, which utilizes unused resources on existing hardware, a company can now transfer data, back up files and scale up more quickly and affordably than traditional means. Virtual architecture can also operate on the cloud, which enables companies the ability to share data globally between their international offices and locations too. The dynamics by which this is achieved continues to be impressive.
Prior to working with Vembu I had no idea what virtual machines were or how they impacted a company’s operations, but now that I’ve explored this technology first hand, it’s incredible how vital they are to a company’s livelihood, uptime and bottom line. In a nutshell, virtual machines (VMs) are software devices that operate like hardware devices. This networking breakthrough allows virtual machines to operate in a software environment while doing the work of several hardware servers thus maximizing data space, power supply and efficiency. So instead of buying extra, expensive physical servers for an infrastructure, the vacant space on existing servers can be assigned to VMs and operate as if they were actual, physical machines. Except, unlike physical machines, each VM and even groups of them, can operate and back up instantly onsite or onto the cloud just like a regular data file.
The amount of money a company can save collectively on equipment costs, power supply and physical space just by using virtual machines is amazing. VMs provide higher performance on a network, lower costs and faster maintenance since they can be moved from one side of the network to another while they are running. What’s even more impressive is that they can operate globally with the same, lightning fast speed as local, onsite networks.
At Vembu, we add even more cost savings to a company’s bottom-line because we specialize in backup and disaster recovery for the virtualized network. We give companies peace of mind that their VMs will never be lost, even if the hardware crashes, because we backup their VMs using Vembu’s Backup and Disaster Recovery software called Vembu BDR™. It is a universal backup solution for SMBs and enterprises. It also removes redundant data, encrypts the files and allows them to move and operate from one virtual environment to another. With BDR™, companies are guaranteed to restore their system within 15 minutes if disaster occurs. What’s more, the hard-to-believe low price of Vembu BDR™ compared to the competition is a fraction of the cost. With Vembu BDR™ smaller companies can save up to 10 times the amount they would normally pay which enables them to utilize enterprise solutions that compete with larger companies without having deep pockets to do it.
As a result, there are obvious and striking differences between Vembu and the competition, which is why Vembu has the better product and price. Especially since Vembu BDR™ can help further enhance network performance exponentially by saving company critical VMs within 15 minutes at rock bottom prices. An absolute must in this ever-growing industry and one that is ideal for small and medium sized businesses.
