In addition to the click and open tracking, Vembu CampaignDesk also offers the users to track their campaigns with Google Analytics.
If the user has configured Google Analytics in their website, then they can integrate their Google Analytics account with Vembu CampaignDesk.
While configuring the campaigns in CampaignDesk, the user must enable the Google Analytics tracking as mentioned below.
When google analytics is enabled, the links in the campaign will be embedded with utm tags. A UTM code is a simple code that will be appended to a custom URL in order to track a source, medium, and campaign name. This enables Google Analytics to tell where searchers came from as well as what campaign directed them to your website.
UTM parameters are simply tags added to a URL — when links in the campaigns are clicked, the tags are sent back to Google Analytics and tracked. With UTM parameters, links can be tagged to gauge the effectiveness of the campaigns sent and identify the best ways to drive more visitors to the website. By using these parameters Google starts tracking the campaigns and generate reports.
The users can integrate their Google Analytics account with Vembu CampaignDesk from Integrations tab.
If the Google analytics is enabled and it has been integrated by embedding the tracking id, then the reports generated by Google will be displayed and embedded in the Reports tab.
It includes data like sessions, users, bounces, bounce rates, new visitors, returning visitors, session duration.
Session :
A session is a group of interactions that take place on your website within a given time frame. For example a single session can contain multiple screen or page views, events, social interactions, and e-commerce transactions.
Bounce :
A visit with one pageview. It doesn’t matter how long the visitor was on the page or how they left. Technically, it’s a visit with only one interaction.
Bounce Rate :
Bounce Rate is the percentage of single-page sessions (i.e. sessions in which the person left your site from the entrance page without interacting with the page).
New Visitor:
A visitor who did not have Google Analytics cookies when they hit the first page in this visit. If a visitor deletes their cookies and comes back to the site, the visitor will be counted as a new visitor.
Returning Visitor :
A visitor with existing Google Analytics cookies from a previous visit.
