Automated Backup Verification
By enabling the Data Integrity option, the system will perform a mount check, boot check, and heartbeat check on the last successful incremental of your backup data in sequence.
This verification occurs every 24 hours (the minimum default value, which can be modified by the user). The results of the verification status will be saved in the local repository and presented to the user in a screenshot of the boot screen.
Mount Check
The Mount check refers to the process of verifying that the backups have been properly mounted and are accessible for use. This verifies the mount status of your backup data, by auto-mounting each backed up disk to disk management and updates the result.
This is typically done to ensure that the backup can be used in case of data loss or system failure.
Boot Check
This verifies the boot status of your backup data by auto-booting backed up data in Hyper-V Manager(On Windows Server) or KVM(On Linux Server) or VMware ESXi/vCenter server and updates the result. This is done to ensure that the backup is complete, up-to-date, and can be successfully used to restore the system in the event of a failure.
Integrity Check Frequency
The time interval between consecutive Integrity Check operations is determined by the value you have defined in the BDRsuite Backup Server console. Your VM/Image level backups will undergo an integrity check based on the frequency you have selected. The screenshot of the boot screen can be found in the Data Integrity Reports section. If email notifications are enabled, you will also receive the same via email.
Heart Beat Check
The Heartbeat Status test regularly checks the functioning of the heart beat service on each VM and reports whether it and the corresponding VM are functioning as expected.
Configure Data Integrity Settings in BDRSuite:
In the BDRSuite Backup Server, navigate to Backup -> Configure Backup Settings -> Data Integrity.
Enable the integrity check for VMs/Disk Images, choose the required settings, enter the details and click on Save.
