New features in BDRSuite v5.1
Object Storage Backup Repository
BDRSuite v5.0 only supports block storage mediums as a destination to store your backup data. Now from v5.1, you can use object storages such as AWS S3 & S3 compatible storage solutions as a storage destination for the backup data. You can use the object storage buckets to store the primary backup data or use them as a destination for backup copy jobs. For example, you can keep the primary backup copy at your data center on block storage devices and keep another copy of your backup data on AWS S3.
Backup Copy
The backup copy feature allows you to create a copy of your primary backup data and store it in a different backup repository. You can use the local storage mediums or object storage as a destination for the backup copy jobs. If the primary backup data is damaged, you can use the backup copy to recover the data. The backup copy supports all the recovery options as the primary backup.
BDR Cluster Deployment
Scaling your BDRSuite Backup Server is simple whenever it requires additional resources to handle growing workloads. You can install multiple instances of the BDRSuite Backup Servers and have them work together for load balancing and high availability instead of expanding the CPU and RAM resources of the same BDRSuite Backup Server.
