Let’s dive right in to discover the new features and enhancements that come with BDRCloud v7.1.0.
New Features in BDRCloud v7.1.0
1. Remote Backup for VMware/Hyper-V: This new feature introduces a seamless solution for remote centralization, enabling efficient backup of VMware and Hyper-V environments. From the BDRCloud console, you can now directly backup your VMware and Hyper-V virtual machines. This encompasses image-level backups with features such as application-aware processing, customizable scheduling, and data retention settings. With the installation of a Remote Proxy, all backup and restore operations can be efficiently managed directly from the BDRCloud console.
2. Simplified Bare Metal Restore Functionality: Direct Streaming Method is introduced for Bare Metal Recovery. Using this method, the backup data can be streamed directly from the BDRCloud Server to the target bare-metal host, requiring a stable internet connection for successful recovery. The existing Manual Download method involves downloading the required disk from backup before initiating recovery, requiring extra storage space but offering flexibility and independence from continuous network connectivity. Both methods ensure comprehensive system recovery, restoring the entire operating system, applications, data, and settings onto new or empty hardware. However, the new direct streaming method reduces the manual tasks thereby minimizing downtime and maintaining data integrity.
3. BDRCloud-Wasabi: In addition to BDRCloud – S3, we’re excited to introduce support for BDRCloud – Wasabi as a cost-effective cloud backup option. Now, you have the flexibility to choose the cloud storage solution that best fits your needs. With BDRCloud now hosted on Wasabi, our data storage capabilities are enhanced, providing users with additional cost benefits and empowering them with greater flexibility and resilience in managing their backup storage needs.
4. Branding Enhancements: MSPs can customize the BDRCloud interface reflecting their own brand identity such as their logo, company name, support email, phone, and more.
5. Multi-tenancy: This feature enables to manage multiple tenants within the cloud environment, offering enhanced control. Now, you can create and manage multiple users as tenants in BDRCloud, assigning various privileges such as ‘Read Only’ or ‘Recovery Access’ based on their roles and responsibilities within the BDRCloud console. This feature enhances security and control, allowing you to customize access permissions to align with each user’s unique needs and responsibilities.”
6. Supporting Chat & Conversation in Teams Backup: BDRCloud now offers dedicated support for backing up Teams chat and conversation data. This feature ensures the secure backup and protection of your Microsoft Teams chat history and conversations. It guarantees that crucial discussions, files, and information shared within Teams are securely backed up and readily recoverable in scenarios such as accidental deletion, data loss, or compliance needs.
