New Features & Enhancements in BDRSuite v5.6.0 U2
1. Backup Data Remotely from Servers & Endpoints
One of the key highlights of this update is the ability to connect Servers (Windows, Linux) and Endpoints (Windows, Linux, Mac) to the backup server from any remote location and backup the data remotely. This is particularly useful for businesses with distributed teams or multiple office locations and Service Providers.
You no longer need to worry about the physical location of your machines; BDRSuite ensures that your data is securely backed up regardless of where your servers and endpoints are located. This is made possible through our agent – BDRSuite Backup Agent (BBA).
Remote Backup Services for Managed Service Providers
Managed Service Providers (MSPs) can now take advantage of BDRSuite’s remote backup capabilities to enhance their backup services.
- Remote Backup from Any Location: MSPs can remotely backup data on Servers (Windows, Linux) and Endpoints (Windows, Linux, Mac) from anywhere, ensuring data protection for clients regardless of their geographical locations
- Centralized Monitoring and Management: BDRSuite provides MSPs with a centralized monitoring and management console to efficiently manage backup operations for distributed client environments
- Multi-Tenancy Support: BDRSuite offers multi-tenancy capabilities, allowing MSPs to create separate tenants for each client
- Self-Service Access for Clients: MSPs can offer self-service access to clients, empowering them to manage and restore their own backups
- Large-scale remote backups: MSPs can easily handle large-scale remote backups with BDRSuite. For instance, MSPs can effortlessly backup and manage 1000 Endpoints or more remotely from a centralized console

What is BBA and how does it work?
BDRSuite Backup Agent (BBA) is a mandatory agent for Server Backup and Endpoint Backup in BDRSuite. This agent allows you to connect and register the backup host from anywhere with the backup server. Once the agent establishes a connection to the backup server, the backup host becomes available for backup. Additionally, the BBA supports backing up data remotely to the backup server.
Previously, managing the addition and registration of hosts in BDRSuite was a cumbersome process, with servers and endpoints requiring different procedures. However, with the streamlined backup workflow introduced in BDRSuite v5.6.0 Update 2, backups for both Servers and Endpoints (Disk Image and Files & Folders Backups) are now consolidated under the same menu. This simplifies the management and monitoring of backups, providing you with a unified experience.
2. Improved BBA installer and backup host registration process
We have also made significant improvements to the BDRSuite Backup Agent (BBA) installation and registration process. Adding new servers and endpoint hosts is now a smoother and more efficient experience, allowing you to set up your backup hosts quickly.
Furthermore, the Changed Block Tracking (CBT) driver for Disk Image Backups is integrated into the BBA installer. During installation, you now have the flexibility to choose whether you want to install the driver immediately, which may require a system reboot, or postpone it to a more convenient time. If you only plan to use the installation for File and Folder Backups, Integration Service for Hyper-V, and/or Backup Proxy for VMware, you can choose to skip the driver installation. This gives you more control over the installation process.
3. Backup for multiple hosts sharing the same IP Address
BDRSuite allows you to easily backup multiple hosts sharing the same IP address from a single backup server. You can simply assign a unique name to each host, to identify easily and differentiate them on the backup server for backup.
4. Streamlined Manual Agent Installation Process
Previously, adding a host required manually entering and saving host details on the backup server. However, with the latest update, the agent installation process itself takes care of registering the host with the backup server and adding it for backup.
