SQL Server Restore
SQL Server enables customers to build mission-critical applications and Big Data solutions using high-performance, in-memory technology across OLTP, data warehousing, business intelligence and analytics workloads without having to buy expensive add-ons or high-end appliances. SQL Server is a database server which is used to store data that can be accessed using any number of methods. Generally, the data will sit on a server (or several servers) while users access it from remote terminals. SQL server has two type of files associated with it, namely, the .mdf and .ldf, which are the data files of the database, where all of the tables, indexes (other than full text catalogs), stored procedures, etc. are stored. The ldf is the transaction log where all transactions are written to. Upon a checkpoint, the contents of the transaction log, .ldf is written to the appropriate .mdf and/or .ldf. Vembu BDR’s SQL Server Plugin uses VDI API to fetch the changed data (since last backup) from the database. You can restore the SQL database in two ways by either using the “Restore to new database” or “Overwrite the existing database” options available. In our upcoming version we will have a granular recovery option for SQL database which means that you can perform table level recovery.

SharePoint is used to create websites through a console which you can use as a secure workspace to store, organize, share, and access information from almost any device and it further allows individuals in an organization to easily create and manage their own collaborative Web sites. Vembu BDR supports a site-collection level backup of SharePoint versions SPS2003/WSS2.0, MOSS2007/WSS3.0 and restoring files and directories is quite simple and can easily be done by end users themselves without the help of System Administrators. You can restore the site collection to the same site collection which is still present or deleted or restore the site-collection to a non existing, new site collection.
