VMware has incorporated some new features into vSphere with the release of vCenter Server 6.5.0b. With vSphere 6.5.0b, VMware have announced their first update to vSphere Client. Additionally, both vRealize operations (vRops) and vRealize Log Insight have also released their updates. Let us have a look at some of the new features they have introduced.
vRealize Operations :
What is vRealize Operations (vRops)? vRops is a VMware tool which is designed to help users supervise their virtual environment. Initially developed as a single tool, vROPS is now a suite of various tools called vRealize Operations.
VMware in their latest vRealize Operations 6.5 version has now made it easy and quick to access the log data. The log data can be accessed from the home menu itself which is a completely redesigned dashboard. That’s not it, you can now compare and contrast your log data with the metrics that are available.
Another important update with regard to vROPS is the node performance. Individual Nodes can now monitor a large number of objects by doubling the memory size from their original size. This update thereby eradicates the need of deploying an extra node as some environments may not be ready for it. In case you need a new node no issues, there is a new node option. The node can manage 40,000 objects and 15,000,000 metrics.
Additional Features:
- Automatic Endpoint Operations Agents upgrade
- Additional monitoring capabilities – increased memory and scope of monitoring
- Improved collaboration – custom groups import and export now made simpler, dashboard sharing
between different vRealize Operations Manager is easy
