When it comes to Backup & DR industry, there is a huge responsibility on analysts as the product is niche and is important considering various factors. We got in touch with one of the tech experts, Kanishk Sethi and tried to understand what it takes to be a technical analyst in an ever-dynamic technological world. Below are the excerpts from a brief rendezvous, we had with Kanishk:
Tell us about your journey into the virtualisation world ?
Kanishk Sethi : I always wanted to talk about my Journey into Virtualization, because it wasn’t like a normal Journey. Back in those days one of my elder brother asked me to start learning about Virtualization and guided me about various course available with VMware which I can undertake. After knowing the details from him and gathering as much as information related thought of enrolling myself into a class, I still remember that day when I was paying the fee for that class and how much I had to think before enrolling into that class. But as they all well that ends well, it has been such a beautiful journey so far, attended various classes, seminars, conferences and on top of it delivered lot of classes ensuring I spread out the Virtualization word loud to all the audience out there and help them to understand all about Virtualization. While delivering classes for VMware as a VCI always tried my best to answer questions and find answers to those questions which I don’t know and get back to them. So it is an awesome Journey and hope this Journey Continues by Learning and giving it out to community people through blogs, knowledge sharing sessions.
What will be the biggest trends in the field of Virtualization in the upcoming years?
Kanishk Sethi : Automation + Cloud Based Instances
Why do you think that backups are important for any industry?
Kanishk Sethi : The name says it all Back — Up ensuring if anything goes wrong you always have Backup in place which can help you bring back your instances in few minutes, you don’t have to wait for redeploying or reconfiguring the instance. Just pick up your last backup and recover your Virtual Machine. Backup is always crucial and will remain crucial when it comes to achieving the minimum amount of Downtime for your mission critical applications.
After having reviewed our product, what makes you think that our product stands out from competitors ?
Kanishk Sethi : Friendly GUI, With very little knowledge one can manage it, no need of separate admin for backup, anyone who is Virtualization familiar can work on the product and quickly create backup and replication Jobs in minutes.
