Mobile devices are considered as one of the important tools within an organization as it helps the employees to have immediate access to internal resources of the company, however, because of a wide diversity of mobile platforms and the operating system, it’s quite complex to manage them.
VMware AirWatch Mobile Device Management helps us to solve this problem by providing a single console for managing large scale deployments of various mobile devices, with VMware AirWatch MDM we can configure and update these device settings on the fly and can also secure access to corporate resources based on the geographic location of the device.
When working with AirWatch Mobile Device Management within your enterprise it’s important to inform end users about how their data is collected and stored, it’s better to work with your legal team and accordingly create your own customized privacy notifications to inform the end users. However, there are some privacy best practices that can be followed for example user information wherein we display information like user First /Last Name, Email address and phone number, another example related to best practices could be related to application information which can vary based on Employee Owned Devices (we can select/deselect to collect personal application information and not to collect the corporate application information) and Corporate-owned devices where AirWatch will collect all the application information.

To Manage various aspects (Users, New Devices) of our Mobile Device Management Environment we make use of Web-Based AirWatch Console but before we can login to the console we must have the Environment URL and login credentials which can be obtained from Account Manager if it is SaaS deployment however if it is On-Premises deployment the URL can be customized followed by awmdm.com, once we have obtained the URL and Credentials we can proceed further and login to the AirWatch Console and if this is the first login to the console we would be asked to set up a four-digit PIN that provides us with an additional layer of security for our console ensuring no unwanted attempts are made to the console and should not be skipped.
