This feature allows “instant” VM recovery by reading directly from the compressed and encrypted backup data contained in the Vembu BDR Suite storage targets. The advantage of the quick recovery is that the VM is reading directly from the backup file, so one doesn’t has to first restore the VM data to the target location with the resulting wait time involved. Vembu is able to provide the same by creating a virtual copy of the VMDK, VHD, VHDX or IMG disks from the backup data after each backup schedule. The author then provides the process and the steps involved in Quick VM Recovery and presents the test scenario where he installs the solution in a guest VM located in a vCenter infrastructure.
