In this article, we will address three common issues, including problems with BitLocker, compatibility issues with the Intel sound driver, and locale settings for Croatia.
In the end, we will give you some tips on how to secure your Windows 11 23H2 machine by backing it up for free.
BitLocker might incorrectly receive a 65000 error in MDMs
If you use the Fixed Drives Encryption Type or System Drives Encryption Type policies in your BitLocker CSP (which is used by the enterprise to manage encryption on PCs and devices), your MDM app might incorrectly show a 65000 error. This happens within the “Require Device Encryption” setting for specific devices in your environment.
It is known to affect Microsoft Intune, and it might also impact other third-party Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
The issue persists in Windows 11 versions 23H2 and 22H2, as well as Windows 10 versions 22H2 and 21H2, and Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019. Windows Servers remain unaffected.
FixedDrivesEncryptionType and SystemDrivesEncryptionType policies allow you to configure the encryption type used by BitLocker Drive Encryption.
To address this problem in Microsoft Intune, you should adjust the settings for either “Enforce drive encryption type on operating system drives” or “Enforce drive encryption on fixed drives” policies by setting them to Not Configured.
For general troubleshooting, Microsoft is actively working on a solution, and we will list it here as soon as it becomes available. Please stay tuned for updates.
Compatibility issues with Intel Smart Sound Technology drivers and Windows 11
Certain versions of Intel SST (Intel Smart Sound Technology) on Intel 11th generation and Windows 11 23H3 experienced compatibility driver issues. Windows shows the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) when an error occurs. This is clearly an issue with the sound driver available under Device Manager > System Devices > Intel® Smart Sound Technology (Intel® SST) Audio Controller.
The affected driver version is IntcAudioBus.sys with a file version of 10.29.0.5152 or 10.30.0.5152.
You can resolve the issue by downloading the OEM sound driver from the official website and installing it on your Windows 11 machine. In case you experience an issue, and the driver is not available, we recommend you contact your OEM sound card manufacturer.
This issue affects Windows 11 versions 23H2, 22H2, and 21H2.
Devices with a locale set to Croatia might not utilize the expected currency
If you set your locale to Croatia, Windows 11 22H2 will not use the correct currency. This affects Windows and applications that retrieve device currency for transactions. This happened due to the fact that Croatia joined the Eurozone early in 2023 and changed its currency from Hrvatska Kuna to Euro.
The solution is to manually change your currency.
- Open Control Panel.
- Click Change date, time, or number formats under Clock and Region.
- Under Format, choose either Croatian (Croatia) or Croatian (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
- Click on Additional settings…
- Navigate to the Currency tab.
- Change the currency symbol from KN to €.
This issue affects the following Windows client and Windows Server platforms:
- Windows 11, version 23H2
- Windows 10, version 22H2
- Windows 11, version 21H2
- Windows 10, version 21H2
- Windows 10, version 20H2
- Windows 10, version 1809
- Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019
- Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2016
- Windows 10, version 1607
- Windows 10 Enterprise 2015 LTSB
- Windows Server 2022
- Windows Server, version 20H2
- Windows Server, version 1809
- Windows Server 2019
- Windows Server 2012 R2
- Windows Server 2012
- Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
