Full VM Recovery to Hyper-V Server
What is a full VM recovery?
In the case of VM failure, full VM recovery gives you the ability to recover the entire VM from the backup to the latest state or any valid point in time. You can recover the VM in exactly the same state as it was during the backup, including its configuration.
You can recover the VM to the original location or to any other location in your local or offsite datacenter.
With Vembu BDR Suite, you can easily recover an entire VMware VM and Hyper-V VM from the backup using the Live Recovery feature.
Performing Entire VM Restore to Hyper-V Server
With Live Recovery to Hyper-V server option, you can permanently restore the backed up Hyper-V virtual machine to the same or different Hyper-V server.
The process includes three simple steps
- Choose the restore version
- Select the VM to be restored
- Enter Target server details
How it Works
- Once you trigger the restore process, Vembu BDR backup server checks for the prerequisites and does the connectivity check in the Target Hyper-V Host.
- Vembu BDR backup server creates a folder in the target location. The folder will be named according to the BDR ID followed by the specified Backup name along with the selected timestamp.
- Vembu BDR server initiates the process to create a disk in the target location using the backup chunk files.
- Then, creates a VM in the Target Hyper-V host and the disk will be attached to the VM.
