Disk Level Recovery
To know what Disk Level Recovery is and the steps involved for the recovery read here - Disk Level Recovery
Beginning the restore process
- Once you trigger the restore process, the backups will be listed for the restore. The disks that are configured for the restore will be retrieved.
- The Vembu BDR backup server gets the list of VM to which the disk must be added. A snap will be created for protective scenarios.
- The disks that are not selected for the restore process will be removed from the disk list. The target machine's disk list will be queried. The disks will be restored as per its respective controller.
- The virtual machine will be reconfigured and the virtual disk will be added to it. Once the data is written from the disks, the virtual disk connection will be closed and the snapshot will be deleted.
