Backup VMs on Hyper-V Standalone Host
BDRSuite for Hyper-V supports backup for VMs running on Standalone host, Hyper-V Cluster that are using local storage, Clustered Shared Volumes, and SMB share.
BDRSuite offers agentless image backup for Hyper-V VMs and also enables backup of running VMs without any downtime. BDRSuite uses Microsoft’s Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) to take application-consistent backups of VMs. With application-consistent backups, data is backed up in a consistent state, ensuring that the backups are recoverable and can be used to restore VMs in the event of a disaster.
Key Features for Hyper-V VM Backup from Standalone Hosts
Hyper-V Backup
Whether you’re running Hyper-V on a standalone host or as part of a clustered environment, BDRSuite has you covered.
Agentless backup
Unlike some backup solutions that require you to install agents on each VM, BDRSuite’s Hyper-V backup works without agents. This means you don’t have to worry about managing and maintaining agents on each VM, which can be time-consuming and resource-intensive.
Application-aware backup
BDRSuite’s Hyper-V backup is application-aware, meaning it can take backups of your VMs while they are running and ensure that any applications running on the VMs are properly quiesced before the backup takes place. This helps ensure data consistency and reliability.
Instant Recovery
You can instantly restore the backed up Hyper-V VM entirely in less than 15 mins using Instant Boot VM option.
Granular recovery
With BDRSuite’s Hyper-V backup, you can recover individual files or folders from your VMs with ease. This can be a lifesaver in the event of accidental deletion or corruption of critical data.
Backup scheduling and retention
BDRSuite’s Hyper-V backup allows you to schedule backups at specific times, ensuring that you always have up-to-date backups of your VMs. You can also configure backup retention policies to automatically delete older backups after a set period, freeing up storage space and ensuring you’re always working with the most recent backup data.
Centralized management
With BDRSuite’s centralized management console, you can easily manage all of your backup tasks across multiple hosts and VMs from a single interface. This makes it easy to monitor backup status, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that your backups are running smoothly.
