Basic Retention
Basic retention is a feature that allows you to set the number of backups that you want to keep for a certain period. This ensures that your data is stored for a necessary amount of time, allowing you to restore it if necessary.
BDRSuite offers a powerful backup solution that protects your data with robust security features and reliable backups. One of the key features of BDRSuite is its retention feature, which provides users with the ability to retain backup data only for the specified period of time and also helps in meeting the legal and compliance requirements.
BDRSuite offers two retention options
- Basic Retention
- GFS Retention
How Does Basic Retention Work in BDRSuite?
BDRSuite allows you to specify the number of days or number of versions, an incremental recovery point should be retained for the backup job. By setting up the retention policy, the older recovery points and data associated with it are deleted from the backup repository, thereby saving the storage space. If the retention for incremental backup is disabled, all restore points and data will be retained.
Version Based Retention
This option lets you you to keeps a specified number of versions of backup. You can select from 1 to 999 versions.
Day Based Retention
This option lets you keep the data for a specified number of days. All the incremental points will be retained if the minimum specified incremental version count does not exceed within the retention time period.
