Create Backup Using Backup Template
A Backup Template is a pre-configured set of backup steps and settings, those can be reused for creating multiple backup jobs. It provides a convenient way to standardize backup configurations and simplify the backup process.
To create a backup using a Backup Template, the following steps can be followed;
In the BDRSuite Backup Server, navigate to the Backup -> Manage Backup Job Template ->Create New Backup Job Template
Step 1: Basic Template Details
A Backup Job Template Configuration – Basic Template Details page will open where the following details are to be filled;
Backup Job Template Name
Name the Backup Job Template for identification.
Template Type
Choose the type of template you want from options like VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V and Microsoft Windows.
Backup Repository
Select either Block Storage or Object Storage based on the requirement.
Repository Name
Choose any existing repository or add a new one.
Use Existing Template Configuration
If you have already created a template then you can choose whether or not to use it by selecting the options Yes or No.
Select an Existing Backup Job Template
All the existing backup templates will be listed here and any of which can be chosen from the dropdown list.
Template Description
Give a description of the template you are creating.
Step 2: Define the Backup Template
This involves specifying or choosing the backup configuration options and settings that should be included in the template, such as the backup schedule, VM/Disk Exclusion, retention policy, etc.
The Backup Template can then be applied to the desired virtual machines or disks the user wants to backup using the BDRSuite Backup Server, which will automatically use the pre configured backup settings.
Once the Backup Template has been applied to the new backup job, the backup process can be initiated, which will create a backup of the specified virtual machines or disks.
By using Backup Templates, users can ensure that backups are performed consistently and efficiently. This can help to reduce the time and effort required to configure backups and can simplify the backup process using the BDRSuite Backup Server.
