Instant Boot VM
Instant Boot VM reduces downtime, allowing businesses to get their critical applications and data up and running within a few minutes. By reducing downtime and minimizing the risk of data loss, Instant VM Boot helps businesses to ensure business continuity.
BDRSuite’s Instant Boot VM feature lets you instantly restore the backup data as a VM on hypervisors like VMware, Hyper-V, and KVM and enables you to meet the RTO less than 15 mins.
How it works
- When you initiate instant boot VM, BDRSuite will directly read the backup data from the storage repository, which is encrypted and compressed.
- Once the data is read, BDRSuite proceeds to create VHD, VHDX, VMDK, and IMG disks for the backups (VMs/physical machines) in the BDRSuite Virtual Drive without occupying any physical storage.
- Then, BDRSuite initiates the instant recovery of your backup data as a VM on the any of the following hypervisors – ESXi/Hyper-V/KVM by using these virtual disk files. This brings your machine back in less than 15 mins.
- When the VM is booted and in a ready to use state, all the modifications are stored in a separate virtual disk file – persistent data, that can be used during live migration or full VM recovery.
