Multi-Tenancy is an architectural approach that allows a single instance of a software application, such as BDRSuite, to serve multiple clients or tenants. It ensures that each client’s data and configurations are segregated and secure, even within a shared environment.

Multi-Tenancy for MSPs in BDRSuite

Multi-Tenancy is a feature tailored for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) using BDRSuite. It lets MSPs efficiently manage backups and data protection for multiple clients:

1. One-Stop Management: MSPs can oversee all client backups from a single console.
2. Role-based Access Control: Define roles and permissions for administrators and users, allowing granular control over access to backup data and management functionalities.
3. Centralized Management: Gain centralized control over backups for multiple clients or tenants, simplifying administration and reducing overhead.
4. Tenant Isolation: Ensure data privacy and security by providing each client or tenant with their own isolated backup environment.
5. Scalability and Flexibility: Allows for the creation of a scalable environment that can adapt to the growing needs of diverse users.

How Multi-Tenancy works in BDRSuite

The multitenancy feature of BDRSuite allows IT administrators and Managed Service Providers to create an unlimited number of separated tenants in order to improve data protection and privacy. Each tenant will have their own dashboard to manage and monitor their backup activities. This functionality allows you to build, customize, and grant user access based on a tenant’s environmental requirements. Users can login to the backup server using their tenant login credentials to manage & monitor the backups or restore the backups whenever necessary.

Multi-Tenancy – Configuration

• Navigate to the tenants page: Click on Backup Server -> Management -> Tenants
• Tenant Creation: Create a tenant with a suitable Name, Email, Restore location and other contact information.
• Entity type selection: Next step is to select the Entity types applicable for the Tenant. Users can select multiple entity types for each tenant.
• Entity selection: Add the entities under each of these selected entity types.
• User creation: Add the list of users who can access the above selected entities. You can add a user with either Read Only or Recovery Access privilege.
• Review and Save: The final step is to review and save the configurations. A tenant will be added with the required privilege’s.
